Introduction of Pakhurikot Gurung Samaj

Pakhurikot Gurung Samaj is a non-profit organization that started with the easy ideology of maintaining our distinctive culture and tradition of Gurung while living in Nepal and other areas of globe. It was established in 2065 B.S and after with full legal registration in 2068 B.S. The founder of this organization is Major Tulsi Prasad Gurung. The location of our organization is Pokhara Metropolitan City ward no. 13.

The people of Gurung tribe currently living in Pokhara city area with their original home located in naturally beautiful village Mijuredanda Pakhurikot, for the mutual understanding of organized identities, collaborative self-reliance, protection of Gurung culture along with social, cultural, educational, economic and development work to promote local glory so to build ideally perfect society leads to the establishment of Pakhurikot Gurung Samaj.

This organization is a membership based community that operates to provide assistance to the increasing number of people living in Pokhara city and other parts. The considerable rise of people migration to city has left many of those people vulnerable to financial, social and cultural loss and identity loss within the people of same village. Personal and financial supports are given to those that are going through tough times such as a death of family member. Social and cultural events such as Losar and Buddha Purnima ensures our rich and unique traditions are not lost and allows for a greater integration of all those Nepalese and Gurung people scattered around Pokhara city.

Our Mission:

  • To work for the betterment of the society by removing the prevailing stereotypes and beliefs of society.
  • Supporting members in birth, death, and emergency accident, religious, cultural, social and miscellaneous activities.
  • Developing different creative and development work along with cooperating with national and international organizations for the growth of the society.
  • To increase cooperation among local residents and conduct business activities for their income generation.
  • To promote economically deprived groups of people and providing opportunities for such people in social development activities.
  • To respect the members of the society those who are involved in the research of religious, social, educational, sports, cultural and historical significance issues rooted in the society.
  • To conduct community boring water supply.
  • To work in harmony with local bodies.
